Northampton Village Hill Residence
Layered naturalistic screening in a new development where there is a near absence of mature trees. Over time, the new trees we planted will create a sense of enclosure for the homeowner, allowing patio sitting with privacy, even with the house surrounded by streets on 3 sides. An herb and vegetable garden was created on the south side of the home, with convenient access to the kitchen.
In 2016, the lawn was renovated to manage the presence of oriental beetle grubs using locally sourced compost from Bear Path Farm, RTF fescue grown in Deerfield, and beneficial nematodes as an organic pest control.
